Kentucky

£60.00

An original painting from the 81 Wild collection.

When I lived in Kentucky, I was most struck by the greenery and density of the forests. The humidity.  I’d take my son and dog on a hike through the forest, and any “overlook” would simply be views of more lumps of tree-covered hills. Bourbon, expensive horses, Kentucky bluegrass. The green grass is so beautiful in the morning and has shades of blue! It’s full of large pastures, farmland, and a variety of tall trees (some common trees are Oak, Maple and Elm). Any 30 minute drive will take you past stretches of corn fields and fields full of yellow butterweed. There are many kinds of wildlife that wander freely around, like deer, rabbits, wild turkeys, and all kinds of birds.

Acrylic, soft pastel and pencil on paper, 5″ x 6″, 2020.
