Emma Howell

An original painting from the hike up harp hill collection.

Glencoe is one of my favourite places. Ever. Passing through or spending the whole afternoon. She is moody, brooding, and mysterious. Changeable. Literally in the span of 10 minutes, I stood in sunshine to wind to sleet. But it isn’t bitter or unkind weather. It’s powerful and fierce certainly only in a way to remind you of nature’s force. I felt ALIVE in Glencoe. Tiny cars rolling in between silent mountains. I felt small and like I could swallow the world all at once.”

Acrylic, soft pastel and pencil on paper, 5″ x 6″, 2021.
