The View Of Juxtaposition

£380.00

An original painting from the four year wild fire collection.

Acrylic and pencil on paper, 15″ x 22″, 2020.

The juxtaposition of people living in extreme poverty beside the most beautiful beaches and oceans in the world, is something that has influenced me heavily in many different aspects. Last year on September 1st a hurricane named Dorian, the strongest hurricane to ever hit the Bahamas.

After the storm there was not only physical damage, but emotional. Fear, anger, confusion, sadness overwhelmed everyone, and still haunts survivors. These are  the things that were not broadcasted, and are not talked about on the scale they need to be.

Juxtaposition reigns itself king.

“Infertility & fertility treatment. Heart breaking: fuelled by love. Desperation with tangible hope. Questions – why me? Expectation vs reality. Loss. Identity. Isolation yet excitement. Dreams. Mountainous. The edge.”
