The Same, But Different

An original painting from the four year wild fire collection.

Acrylic and pencil on paper, 15″ x 22″, 2020.

I am a twin. Being a twin has bought me so much joy. My twin sister and I are best friends. Although we live separate lives and at opposite ends of the country the bond is unbreakable. I often take for granted what a support it is to have someone you can always turn to, who understands you completely and who will have you back in every situation. I’m not sure I truly know what it is to feel lonely. Not really. Because I know my person is always there for me.

I prayed for this

The day you left

my dreams

Your suffocating indifference

Your silence shattering the veil

And buried yourself into my darkness

Covered. Dead. Done. And dusted.

Who are you
