“Iowa is full of low rolling hills and much of the land is used for farming, rows upon rows of corn and soybeans. This sea level landscape is perfect for uninterrupted sunsets or watching huge storm clouds roll in. Luckily, we have been left with a few precious spaces filled with remnants of what was there before the the farms, the natural landscape of tall prairie grasses and wildflowers that you can see the wind move through like waves on a shoreline appearing in a landlocked state.”
Acrylic, soft pastel and pencil on paper, 5″ x 6″, 2020.
