Emma Howell

Florida

£60.00

An original painting from the 81 Wild collection.

Ah, the sunshine state. The greenery is lush and tropical. It’s really flat, and the animals are a part of the bright colors- there are bright green lizards, red and yellow birds, crocs, etc. The architecture is really influenced by the Spanish colonizers, with a lot of white houses with flatter red tile roofs. The Florida keys – home of Ernest Hemingway, his cats and key lime pie. The beautiful Everglade swamps full of alligators – it is humid and sticky. Beaches are far as the eye can see. Food from across the Caribbean and huge cocktails. Art Deco pastels, baby blues and pinks, sage green.

Acrylic, soft pastel and pencil on paper, 5″ x 6″, 2020.
