Emma Howell

South Dakota

£60.00

An original painting from the 81 Wild collection.

I guess volcanic ash was carried over to South Dakota and deposited.. then millions of years of erosion created this bizarre space. I think they call them Black Hills because as you’re driving from East to West, you’re driving on pretty flat ground. Then all of a sudden.. you see the “black” outlines of hills. Then when you drive closer, they definitely are mountains. They look so out of place.. just a bizarre landscape in the middle of flat-ish grassland.
